Some of the 20,000 shareholders at yesterday’s Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholder Meeting
Yesterday was the annual pilgrimage to Omaha, NE for the investing faithful to pay homage to perhaps the greatest investor of all time: Warren Buffett. Long known as the “Oracle of Omaha”, the ninety-four-year-old Mr. Buffett announced that he would step down as CEO of the legendary Berkshire Hathaway to be replaced by colleague Greg Abel.
CNBC covered the event, often called “Woodstock for Capitalists” and you can watch all six hours of the coverage start to finish along with edited segments of Mr. Buffett’s comments on particular topics.
For a good summary of this remarkable man’s life, CNN offers a great written recap and video comments of his thoughts on trade and tariffs.
Finally, if you’ve not read the full story of his life, I suggest his authorized biography “The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life” by Alice Schroeder.
Mr. Buffett philanthropic activities are well known, which shows that you can both do good while doing well.
I wish him a long and happy retirement.
