Evey big business was once a small business. That’s why I like the American Business History site. Great articles that trace the origins of successful businesses and explore as Jim Collins has written, “How the Mighty Fall.” Every story includes hard work, intelligence, dedication, and luck!
A great example of the amalgam of these elements is a new posting on this website traces the history of the Marriott Corporation and its founder J. Willard Marriott who went “From Herding Sheep to Hospitality Empire.” It’s not only the story of how a small business became a big one, but how an entrepreneur can start a business, only to find enduring success in a very different one he never thought about entering.
