Admit it, you love feedback…especially when it’s good! One of the country’s premier speakers and consultants on customer service, Shep Hyken thinks that love of positive feedback can be but a step to what he calls Feedback narcissism, which he describes as a condition “that arises when a company – or employee in a company – is accumulating ratings and reviews to feel good about itself versus using the feedback to improve the experience for the customer.”

Mr. Hyken offers a short article on his site  that explores the condition of Feedback Narcissism, the need for executives to be on the watch for it and to search out for the “constructive” (i.e. negative) feedback as well.

As Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned “Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose”.
