Inflation, Properly Understood: When the pandemic tied up supply chains, the resultant inflation was attributed to container ships awaiting unloading and other delivery and obstacles due to shutdowns etc. Four years later,  those obstacles are gone ….and inflation is not. A rising price level must have a more intractable cause. If not supply chains, could it be government spending? Inflation may be here to stay for some time so it’s important to understand not only its effect, but it’s cause.
