Which side are you on? Many economists believe that the consumer is the driving force in the economy; a “demand” side philosophy so to speak. In the 1980’s, another school of economic thought,  “supply side economics” became prominent. Economist Brian Wesbury is in the latter camp and offers some thoughts about it, consumer spending and what’s ahead for the economy.
