A few weeks ago in this space I shared, in honor of the Disney Company’s 100th anniversary, an article on the unique business model that Walt Disney created. Equally unique was Walt Disney himself.

Most businesspeople‘s understanding of the Disney organization starts and stops at their experience with the movies, TVs, and theme parks that Walt pioneered. But the real story is the man himself and those interested in how a company survives and thrives for 100 years would do well to learn more about Walt’s early years and the early innovations that some say might never have happened but for him.

Of particular interest are his “bet the company” decisions that created the remarkable organization we know today. He was truly “An Entrepreneur without Peer.” This article is a  little longer than what I usually feature here, but well worth a little extra time for the read. There’s only one Walt Disney).
