“A Busy Week”: To say it’s been a turbulent week is a massive understatement. The equity markets have taken an enormous hit and the uncertainty around the effects of tariffs on inflation, employment and production is not yet clear to many business people, but ITR’s most recent Fed Watch featuring ITR’s Lauren Saidel-Baker may help you find some clarity.
March Employment Report was released today and is one of the few bright spots in a week of dire economic news. Actual results easily beat consensus, but readers should be reminded that these numbers are backward looking and pre-date this week’s tariff decisions, and a great degree reflect the robust labor market at the beginning of the year.
